Script to subtitles
This editor runs locally in your browser. Optional Whisper recognition uses Cloudflare.
1 Your script
0 words
2 Length of your audio or video
Loading the file reads its exact length and lets you preview on it. Nothing is uploaded.
Line settings
About 42 for 16:9 video, 30–32 for narrower shapes like 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5.
Match subtitles to the voice · Whisper
Paste the script in step 1, load its recording in step 2, then match every subtitle to where it is actually spoken. Your browser measures the recording and sends only short 16 kHz voice clips for recognition — never your original file — and your script's words are never changed.
Load an audio or video file above to turn this on.
Or run recognition on your own computer
The same work from the downloaded repo, on your own Cloudflare account, then open its review file here.
npm run srt:audio -- recognize --audio voice.mp3 --script script.txt --out Outputs/subtitles/voice
Run as one line. This estimates the cost without uploading. Add --submit to recognize with Whisper Large v3 Turbo ($0.000513/audio minute, rate checked September 2026). Requires uv and Cloudflare credentials; see the subtitle guide in the downloaded repo.
Preview and edit
Edits are kept per strategy while this page is open. Export before closing. “Re-time all” replaces voice timing with a duration estimate.
3 Check and edit
Your subtitles will appear here. Paste a script and press Make subtitles.
4 Font and export
Style is for the preview. Set the same font, size and colour in your editor after importing.
ASS carries style for compatible players. Use SRT for Resolve or Premiere and apply the font and position there.
Importing into your editor
Premiere Pro
- File › Import the .srt and drag it onto the timeline above your video.
- Select the captions track. In Essential Graphics (or Properties), set the font to Mukta.
- Set size and colour, then Push to track style so every subtitle matches.
DaVinci Resolve
- File › Import › Subtitle, then drag it from the Media Pool onto the timeline.
- Click the subtitle track header, open the Inspector › Track tab.
- Set the font to Mukta, then size, colour and outline.
Unicode or Preeti?
A subtitle file can't carry a font; your editor applies it. Unicode files read as Nepali with any Unicode font. Preeti files look like g]kfn until you pick a Preeti-type font, and then they read नेपाल. That's normal. Preeti fonts can't show English letters.
